My Easter Egger, Elsie! Do I need to change her name to Edwin? Hen or Roo? Please help the newbi

Thanks for the feedback. Nothing about its appearance says rooster to me but its only eight weeks or so. My big roo went after it with his feet instead of pecking and the juvenile attacked a wild dove that ended up in the run. Just not sure what to think at this point. Thanks again.

My Easter Egger, Elsie! Do I need to change her name to Edwin? Hen or Roo? Please help the newbi

Here we go again! Since that Easter Egger from last Spring turned out to be a Rooster I purchased what I hoped to be an Easter Egger hen just recently but I am starting to suspect I have another rooster. I can't identify any saddle feather yet but it has exhibited some behaviors and my full...

    saltbox coop design

I'm gonna try this program. I purchased a salt box style coop and now want to build a larger run around it. This will be a helpful tool to figure out how to do that and make it compliment the coop! Wish me luck! Thanks for posting.

Thanks for your words of "Rooster Wisdom". This is my first flock and I had no intention of getting roosters but life is full of surprises and by the time I realized our most beautiful Easter Egger hen was a HE and the akwardly fuzzy little black silkie was a HE too I was attached to both. So...

My little "blue" silkie. I think "she" might be a "he".

Just now saw your post. This little guy has confirmed himself a roo. He's been crowing over a week now! Still a sweetie! He's got a better crow that my big EE. I see you are interested in D'uccle. I had no idea what they were but recently had the opportunity to "meet" some at a small...

My little "blue" silkie. I think "she" might be a "he".

This little guy is the sweetest and he is crowing now. I am lucky that I am surrounded by about 50 Acres of woods so no one is going to complain. My biggest concern is that I have ended up with two roos the other one is a large EE. So far not too much conflict but I think I will have to...

My little "blue" silkie. I think "she" might be a "he".

I was told this little one is a Blue Silkie and expected it to be a hen but we are starting to question. Looks very different from my other Silkie but they are supposed to be the same age, about 20 weeks now. Which ever this little one is the sweetest and I often refer to it as my "lap...
