I love my chickens so much because they make me a delicious breakfast :) They also know me as their Momma and follow me around where ever I go. Even when I'm mowing the lawn around their yard or riding my dirt bike they run along with me right at the fence

I've been getting my chickens pine shavings from the local co-op, but now I have the option to get them from a woodshop for FREE. Are there any woods that they are allergic to? My friend told me don't use cedar, but at the woodshop no one uses it anyways. I just want to make sure they won't get...
Do you know if they are allergic to any other woods besides cedar? I want to get some free shavings from a woodshop and they might contain walnut, cherry, red/white oak, poplar, and pine. Mostly pine though
It's right about the time my chickens will start laying and I was wondering if it's alright that the nesting boxes are about 6-8 inches off the ground with no ramp leading up to it. They can jump into it and it is evident that they've been in them before because last time I cleaned out the coop...

I've got six chickens and they just turned 20 weeks old last Thursday. They haven't started laying yet, and I'm checking at least three times a day :D but what if they don't start laying in the nesting boxes I've built for them but instead decide to lay underneath the coop? 'v'
