My chickens have an infestation of little flea looking bugs. They stick there and is very hard to remove them.
They also jump on people and go to the face by the ears. On the chickens they stick to the neck and head.I use flea drops
and spray, the one used for dogs. Seems like they are less but...
Roosters are the easiest to introduce to the flock. I have done it twice. Now the problem with roos is they like to wake up and crow at the earliest hours of the morning
How are your neighbors sensitivities? Also is your area o.k with roosters. These are points to consider when adding a rooster...

i never tried that but I wouldn't cook any thing for chickens. I don't think is necessary if they don't eat it you will know what they like
i think very young beans will be the best.Mine love tomatoes the redder the better
I also started sprouting some veggie seeds but they take too long on the jars, I got some sprouting seeds at the health food store. I used to sprout for salads. Now is for me and them.
