    posting videos???

I have some funny video clips of one of our goose carrying on a conversation, but I can't figure out how to post them? I have put pics on here, but no luck with the video. I can email them to someone to post maybe?

    Lonely Goose

Well, the lonely goose now has a new home. She is a sweety too. I will get some pics of her. I wish I could have snagged some of those Canadians that were hanging out with her! I know people say they're a nuisance, but they were awesome looking. We don't have them in my area.

    Lonely Goose

Quote: No, didn't think that. It's all good. That's why I specified that I'm not one. I'm all for rescue groups to help animals, but some of them p.iss me off. I have had run ins with two dog rescue groups in the past month. Try to help a dog and it's nothing but hassle. Screw it I bought...

    Lonely Goose

Like I said, she is welcome to come to Ocala with us. We are not a "rescue". I just offered because she sounds like she needs a nice home. You're welcome to come check our place out. We have a large pond and a small pond, and a private motocross track all around the ponds. Lots of places to...

    Anyone keep Ocellated Turkeys?

I have been a turkey hunter for many years. I have gotten my Royal Slam which is the Eastern, Osceola, Merriams, and Rio Grande turkeys in America, and a Gould's turkey in Mexico. We were going to go to Guatemala for Ocellated turkeys to get our World Slam, but after we were told how they...

In response to the thread: The Truth Behind Crested Ducks

Wow, I never knew crested ducks were birth defects. Interesting. I have 4 crested ducks- a M/F pair of runners, a rouen drake, and a fat little pekin drake with a GIANT puff afro. We call him Puffy or Puff Daddy, like the rapper LOL. I bought them all as adults and all four of them seem...

Catahouligans!!!! Share your pics and stories!!!!!!!!! (catahoula leopard dogs)

I have had catahoulas for almost 20 years. I have owned several other breeds of dog- various large bully breeds, rottweiler, cur dogs, lots of different hounds, and even mutts, but catahoulas are by far the smartest, most loyal, and best dogs I've ever owned. They are a strong willed breed and...

    Interaction with wild ducks

I am in Ocala FL, so not too far from you. You seem to have more waterfowl than we do. We don't see spoonbills very often, and I've never seen that red belly duck. Are you near the refuge in Merrit Island? We haven't had the cranes come this year. I love them. We had one coming here a few years...

Our hen started sitting yesterday. Some rookie questions

Sounds good. I kind of figured she would take care of her babies, but I just wanted to check. No, I don't eat the eggs. They're really just pets that we enjoy watching. Besides, her eggs are pretty small. I can only imagine how small the bantam eggs would be- like those easter egg gumballs LOL...

Our hen started sitting yesterday. Some rookie questions

Yes, we have her boyfriend, a golden phoenix rooster. We also have a mille fleur rooster and two mille fleur hens, but they stay in a seperate area and don't mix. Occasionally the phoenix rooster goes looking for, and whips up on the little bantam rooster, but not very often. The girl sitting...

    Interaction with wild ducks

So yesterday I looked back to where the pond is and saw all the ducks & geese standing on top of pond bank carrying on. At first I figured they wanted to eat again(they ALWAYS want eat! LOL). As I walked down to them I noticed they were all looking in the pond and their noises were kind of an...

Our hen started sitting yesterday. Some rookie questions

Ok, thank you very much for the info. Exactly what I needed. I say we will get rid of the babies, but once my little boy sees them, I'm sure we will end up keeping a few haha. Thanks again.

Our hen started sitting yesterday. Some rookie questions

Sorry if these are dumb questions. I know next to nothing about chickens. I only got these golden phoenix chickens because they came with some ducks I bought LOL. These chickens have a kind of a sweet setup, They free range around our big equipment barn all day and roost in the rafters. We enjoy...

Where can I give away my muscovy duckling?

There's another large park in downtown Ocala and there are a lot of ducks out there, mostly muscovies. I've seen the population grow by quite a bit over the past year or so, and I know that they will be "re-locating" ducks soon. When I go to this park I keep seeing one pair of ducks that I...

Where can I give away my muscovy duckling?

No... muscovies are not loved in Florida. I live in Ocala, Florida. A few years ago the city was going to round up and kill something like 200 muscovy ducks from a local city park, ironically named "the duck pond". The park is in a fairly affluent part of town and the snooty soccer moms were...

Help id a couple of my geese?

Yes, it's slightly smaller than the big toulouse, but I have a smaller toulouse (the one with angel wing in the pics) that's about the same size as the mystery goose. Those two were quite a bit smaller when I got them a couple months ago, but have grown a lot. I just assumed they were younger...
