How many are breeding for Blue Australorps here in America?

Kurt, I was hoping to hatch some Cochins also so I gave her 4 of each. However, The other Cochins were in with her at first and stealing eggs from her. At one point several ended up away from mom on a cold day, one Australorp, so I removed them. In the end she had 3 Australorp eggs and all...

    MOTTLED COCHIN THREAD~!

Most of the Cochins I see look Bantam. This girl was solid black until her first full molt. I would love to find a mottled standard (LF) rooster to put with my girls.

And it was a tough choice! But I must say I am more and more impressed with Denali every day. Such a wonderful personality to go with such good looks! I didn't think I would ever again love a rooster as much as I loved Bazinga but it looks very possible now.

    I just Got 4 Cochins,now What

I agree with EggSighted4life. Not only is it a tad reckless to add new birds you know nothing about, but if they are youngsters, your established adult flock will pick on them. Everyone has an opinion, and mine is : 8 weeks is too young to join the flock. Nothing kills a buzz like disease or...

    I just Got 4 Cochins,now What

I bought Cochins for the sole purpose of hatching future generations for me but they have turned out to be excellent layers, when they are not broody or molting. They are sweet, calm, and adorable with their feathered feet.
