    What are my tom's intentions?

I'm not letting him into the chicks run or coop but he just struts along their fence. It's kind of a good thing because the cats and other birds stay away. I still think he wants to kill the chicks but he's keeping other animals away too. Weird.

    What are my tom's intentions?

I put moved my chicks out to their new coop and run and my Tom is just strutting right outside of the fence. The turkey now lives with 6 hens and 1 rooster. My husband thinks the Tom is claiming his new flock. I think he may be trying to eat them. Opinions?

not sure if it's scaley leg mites or just dirty. I live in the PNW so it's been raining and really muddy out.

    do turkeys put themselves away?

Thinking about getting a couple of turkeys. I would like them to free range and lock up the run at night. I do this for my chickens but they "put themselves away at night" & so so I'm wondering if turkeys are similar. Thanks, Rowena

    finally posting in WA

I have always wanted chickens but I'll be honest, I did not grow up with pets. My husband did & my children have pets now. I've been "studying" for a few years actually, waiting to buy a house.

    finally posting in WA

Hello, I've been a member for a while, reading through the forum, reading every book from the library, watching youtue videos about raising chickens. We're finally buying a house so I would love to finally get chickens for eggs. Are there workshops to learn hands on in western WA? Any tips...
