Really nice. How well do they lay on a yearly basis? How well do they forage? Are they they type chicken that will go broody and self hatch, and rear their young? Just curious for homesteading purposes.
Nice looking birds!
How about a Mullion Door Heater, or Freezer Drain Heater, with a temperature switch? You can get the Freezer Drain Line Heaters with a built in thermostat, typically 40 watts per meter for use near plastic, or 50 watts per meter otherwise. Commonly they will require 230 volt connections, but if...
centrarchid,
It is exactly your Old Time type of breed development that has me looking forward to one day owning some of your Dom's. I wish more breeders would take an approach similar to yours!
Hmm...that might be a bit of a problem. Where exactly are you located again? Maybe I have family reasonably near there! I know you have posted where, I just don't remember.

Right at the moment I still live in the city. In the next 2-3 years I hope to move back to the country so I can have chickens again. I used to love to watch the baby chicks follow their mother around and learn the ropes. I would occasionally use the incubator to hatch additional chicks as well...
@Bob,
I would like to get in line to thank you for all that you do, and all that you have announced you will do for the "Community"! Last night I got to reading your Java Breeding 101 parts 1 & 2. I must say they helped me understand some things! Well written, comprehensive, and to the point...
