Five ducklings hatched last week. Parents are from show/breeding lines, not hatchery ducks. $35, local pickup in Indianapolis. Also have hatching eggs.

Thank you all. I suspected as much, sadly. She's been a special chicken and I'm grateful she's lived this long. I have brought her in the house and she has plenty of tempting snacks and water, and a stress-free environment.

My 8 yo EE hen, Big Red, has stopped eating and drinking from what I can tell. Poop was stuck and covering her back end a few days ago so I cleaned her up. She was a bit lethargic but would eat mealworms and fruit. The poop is back and now she will hardly move. She's still responsive to me...

LOL -- that's way too much information for me to digest. :-D In simple terms, what makes mine calls and not true miniatures? The coloring? These are the first calls I've had and are pets. Had a chance to buy ducks and didn't care what the colors were. They are larger than my butterscotch calls.

I was told there is no thing as Silver Appleyard calls, just bantam and mini Silver Appleyard. Not right?

I have a trio with 4 newly hatched ducklings and a few more under the other hen. I bought them last winter and was told they are mini silver appleyards, not bantam. The drake's a complete jerk. :-)

I thought you were local. These are farm store drakes, not SQ.
