I recently received this rooster as a gift from a friend and I fell in love with the color and I would like to know what genes would produce that color so than I can replicate it easier by choosing a chicken with matching genetics. I would like to say its the silver gene at work but I'm not sure.
I have 4 mixed bantams with 4 standard sized chickens, recently my bantam rooster has been matting with my normal sized chickens so that may be something to take into consideration.
Could someone please let me know what breed of chicken these hens might be. They come from a mixed bantam flock and I would like to know if there is any thing that stands out about them. Thank you for your time.
