It's not lice or mites and i have checked for that,usually when they get mites or lice it starts on their back. That was actually the first thing i thought of and panicked lol, but when i looked at them there wasn't any bare red irritated skin exposed and they seem to act fine. I read more on...

I am a proud new chicken mama to my 11 black australorp girls. I have noticed that three of my hens have like white stuff on their heads. I got them when they were 9 weeks old back in April of 2012, are they molting ?? I'm not sure because i read a lot about molting and a lot of people say that...

My hens have drys combs as well, should i be concerned? They all seem happy as can be just a little dry looking in the comb. Could it be the cold air ?? I'm a new chicken mama and just want to make sure my girls are okay lol.
