All four of my Black sex-link mixes. We're not quite sure what they were mixed with because we got them from a nearby farmer. :) sorry for the bad picture quality. They're about 23 weeks right now :)
This was extremely uplifting, becuas I'm getting 5, 3-4 week old white leghorn pullets on Thursday, and I'm INSANELY excited! These will be my first breed of birds that aren't quail! XD
I think I've had quail a bit too long- they're not bond-y, not cuddly in the least, and yet my best friend...
Give her antibiotics, and ask a vet about the pain- I had a quail hen cut open her head down to the skull- it was horrible, she got caught on some wire and ripped all the skin and muscle off! -but we washed the cut out and put antibiotic cream on it daily and she was fine.
Good luck!
Go to the nearest vet who will treat chickens immediately! She could get an infection! If the other hen was injured but not badly, put neosporin or antibacterial cream of the wounds after washing them out thoroughly. Be careful with them, don't touch the one hen's eyes, no matter what: your...
Thanks... I feel really bad now about this... I was just trying to say that usually its just dust or food grains stuck in the chickens' noses.... I wish we could hear everyone's tone of voice and stuff.... That would be a lot easier..
Im sorry, I didn't mean it that way, you don't have to be sorry, I meant durring the hen was stupid, not your post. I got a little mad because people say stuff like that when really you only have to clean the hen's nose
Oops... Yeah I probably should have explained that better.... But then again, I'm never good with words, so I'm not really sure why I even bother because everyone always takes it the wrong way....
Oh my god... I'm so sorry for your loss... I read through this whole thread, thinking- yes! He's going to be ok! It's an avian mirical story! -until I got to page four.... I can't even tell you how sorry I am- this broke my heart especially because I had two quail that i raised from eggs pass...
That's stupid. A sneeze won't do anything. One of my quail has a sneeze- I didn't have a fire or anything -and it ended up just being because she had some stuff stuck in her nostrils. Just clean out the hen's nose, and she should be fine. The sneeze thing is stupid and has no relevance unless...
I don't think it's a deficiency. I think she developed a limp leg, or possibly even hurt it somehow- maybe when you weren't watching for a minute, she got it caught under something like a food dish but managed to free herself. I had a quail chick that developed a limp leg. Your duckling may grow...
Could I possibly get one lavender orpington cockerel and two-three RIR females? How much would you say for those? (day-week old chicks, still fluffy babies!!!! ^_^ the babies are just too cute!)
