Don't use kitty litter they will eat it. Use Cedar chips you can buy a big bag of devils tower or equal brand for about 10.00 from a farm store. They are messy, they do smell and it doesn't change or get better. You change diapers every few hours for 15yrs.. thats a house goose. You either love...

Yes,
When you look at the type of a wild Muscovy they are near the same [b :
type wise[/b] ,just smaller, then Show Muscovies. Birds you I see today as backyard pets, have a off head and off type for either one. Most people once they see a Show Muscovy want them rather then...
The blood typing on Muscovy shows there is Comb duck. They could have acquired it in the wild, or in early domestication but it is there. I would have thought someone with your expertise would have known what is in the DNA of the Muscovy.
I would assume, and of course this is an assumption based on basic genetics, that given the black (blue, Lavender, silver etc) and brown, (chocolate, fawn, cream etc) base and dilutions there of, that do not exist commonly in nature, where of course all of our Muscovy originated, that any bird...

I don't know what the French did...people have been hybridizing muscovies for years. I have never heard of Pekins being used to create Muscovies , but I don't know. I only talk on this board about things I know.

I found an article on the French meat Muscovy years ago and it...
yes, but we know from history that the French did integrate Pekin into the famous french line of Meat type Muscovy. This is more then likely where the majority of white Muscovy most of us own come from.
Because all wild Muscovy are black, and all Muscovy are not black, it would make sence that any non black Muscovy has had influence of other breeds. There are no white, or blue or chocolate Muscovy in the wild either, so somewhere along the line, I agree that any colored Muscovy would yes.. have...
Other then the fact your an expert.. what makes you think she is a hybred? Hybreds or mules are not fertile.. and this one is.. I also own her parents and they were obviously fertile.. so.. again.. what drew you to that conclusion?
I agree that pieds are not recognized.. however any color with pied.. is that color.. just with white.. if she was solid, she would be a blue fawn.. so doesn't that make her a blue fawn ... pied?
She is no more hybred then the whites. She laid and hatched clutches for me. Why do you say she looks hybred? just curious I have never heard anyone say that about her, any of my ducks or the blue fawns befor
Lilacs don't have chocolate heads, they have lilac heads.
Here is a blue fawn from my flock what you can see is that the blue is diluted and the chocolate is diluted and turns fawn everywhere but the head, the feathers themselves have both blue and chocolate ( with one dilute gene) thus making...
The low down on this is this.. they are not as calm as the buff and Emden, they are about as hard to breed as the dewlap and if you breed curly to curly you get wing problems. They are not easy, in short.. they take knowledge of not only geese but the breed. They are expensive and time...
