That's ok... try handling 5 hard-broody Silkies at the same time w/ all 5 trying to fit into an 11"x11" nestbox ❣️
This is only 3 in a box... never got one of all 5 in one box!
Oh, I love geese too. Better than guard dogs on the farm & they are really good staying on the property & don't have a dog's wanderlust. My folks had non-dewlap Toulouse. I would love a couple geese but our suburb property is too small for both chickens & geese.

Amazing how much chickens enjoy fans ❣️ We had a Silkie that tapped on the floor fan when she wanted us to turn it on for her ~ if she could turn it on herself I bet she would have!
Special needs babies have a way of becoming "house" chickens... & become incredible snugglers ❣️ This baby had deformities & didn't live long but we committed to her as a house chicken & did our best to always be w/her & take her w/us when we left the house or she'd cry alone.
Our tribe likes to "help" me do yard work too... takes me 3x longer w/ them messing up the leaves & pruned branches I just put in a pile❣️ I don't have time for this between garden harvesting, freezer canning, therapy appts, & yard work I'm missing pages & pages on here! But, I wouldn't trade...
Handsome... the birds too❣️Chickens are so super! Once you have 'em it's hard to be w/o 'em.

Yes, cuckoo Dumpy, I know. Rare here... I looked for them a decade ago. People usually don't realize there's a difference between cuckoo & barred feathers.
Cuckoo pattern is irregular and/or V-shaped across each feather
While Barred feather pattern runs connected across each feather
She is a beauty... she needs to go on the BYC Dominique thread to show her off❣️
