Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Very innovative! Tap on the nipple to start a drip or two. They'll see the drip & catch on.

You probably didnt need to keep checking on the chicks when driving. They constantly chirp & mutter all the time anyway. Even w/ a passenger to hold the chickbox in the lap, the chicks never stop peeping. DH had our Dom chicks in our pet carrier & they would stop peeping only when he put his...

Nice to hear the sand works for you ~ pros & cons are all true but still one of our favourite choices. We only have the outdoor 4'x4' sandbox under a 10'x10' popup tent to protect box from broiling summer sun & winter rains ~ but it is a favourite chicken hangout ~ cool shaded sand in the summer...

Sebrights are so tiny to be mixing w/standard roos. Did you have a plan about that? You certainly have the space for separate pens. All bantams are too adorable to resist :D

Mail isn't stolen but USPS & FedEX have delivered to wrong houses☹️ Some neighbors have locked mailboxes but none of our important business is by mail 📬 so no longer need to spend $$$ on a P.O.B. just cuz of USPS incompetence. Things that were stolen most recently in our neighborhood have been...

As for surgery... don't forget to factor in the time for scheduled therapy too. I'm still in therapy over 6 months after my arm surgery but it is so worth it if you can have sessions💕.

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Bored chickens might peck at marine paint so we never painted our little coop. The 12" paver stones floor keeps chickens from digging holes to China & keeps the coop frame from sinking in muddy soil. Even in downpours our coop stayed relatively sturdy... so much so that after 4 yrs of us using...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Yes, buried wood rots. For 4 years we elevated our first (wood) coop off bare ground by using 12" paver stones as a foundation. We don't get much rain here so this worked for us.

Your work is custom & people have no idea what that entails... plus your time, materials, S+H is $$$ too. My opinion is you're too reasonable... but then price ranges in Calif are probably different from price expectations in other states? Love OUR handled custom Silkie basket from you 💕 The...

NO NO NO! No arm breaks! Not fun! You'd never carry another bag of chicken feed or move a hay bale again!
