    Hello from Germany

Welcome! I'm moving to Germany in a little over a week. We are military and will be stationed at Kasierslautern. Could you point me in the right direction for the rules and regs for backyard chicken keeping in K-town?

    New Chicken Parent

So far, the chicks are just over a week and we've only lost one. No idea what happened. Been checking for pasty butt twice daily. They're on good feed and I've given then a few treats here and there. They're getting used to me and being held. They're even cuddled up with the kittens a couple...

    Getting mixed up...deep litter

Yes. Diatomaceous earth, or DE, "is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder." It sucks the moisture out of anything. Stall Fresh and Stall Sweet are man made combinations of materials.

    Just joined in Colorado Springs

If you're open to Barred Plymouth Rock and Rhode Island Red's, we ordered chicks due to arrive in Dec. We had to order 15 to get them in winter, so if you want to start as chicks, we might be able to help.

    Colorado Springs Colorado

I'm getting chicks in December and while they won't be six months old until June, I'll need to downsize my chicks pretty soon after getting them. Had to order 15 to ship in winter and that's a lot for our first. If you're interested, I could give you a chick or two.
