    Yeah he is a he and a very pretty he at that! Well maybe you are just really lucky, lets hope he never crows:) ( unless you want him to ). I would like him to crow every now and again as I live in a fairly rural area so it wouldn't matter.

    I've owned Barred rock, Speckled Sussex, Light Sussex, Appenzeller, Cream legbar and Indian game. I have found Indian game to be the most docile and friendly of the lot with great personalities. Only down side is that they aren't great layers but defiantly worth having around. I lost my Indian...

    My boy has never attempted to crow and he seems really chilled out and very friendly. I really hope he doesn't change too much. Is it possible that if he's got to 25 weeks without crowing he may never crow?

    Do Barred Rock cockerels take longer to mature? My boy is around 25 weeks old now and he's never crowed or tried to mount a hen.

    Thank you. He's really friendly and follows me around the garden but he hasn't started crowing yet. I thinks he's around 24weekd old now and haven't heard him make much noise at all.

    Ok I'm really starting to worry about my Barred Rock roster, I'm going to go out one morning and he will have turned into a Rottweiler!!!

    He seems to be a bit of a whimp at the minute and really calm I hope that doesn't change!! Are Barred rock rosters know for bring aggressive or is it just a case of good and bad in every breed??

    No I never got chance unfortunately. I think he's going to be a big rooster as he's seems to have shot up this week!!
