I read as much as I could, but am genetics challenged. I just got this baby, which surprisingly (to me) kept warm in below zero temps in an unheated greenhouse in a cardboard box in northern Illinois, with her blue slate mom. Royal Palm tom. Does sex linked mean I can tell if this is a boy or...
I have 3 Royal Palm and 2 Blue Slate toms for sale, asking $50 each. They are 7-8 months old, born in May, very nice birds would make good pets or mates, etc. Located Northwest Chicago suburbs.
I'm trying to help a friend in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, one of her chicks was a rooster. He's about 8 weeks old, a Silver Laced Black Wyandotte if anyone knows anyone who'd be interested. Thanks!
And here is my rooster with orange Halloween highlights, having eaten from a hollowed out pumpkin. (Makes me think of adding food coloring to the roof of the next one and giving him different colored hairdos!)
Wondering if others can share pictures of crossbeak chicks as they age? In my opinion, having just gotten my first crossbeak chick, if you can see it at birth then it is going to be severe! Would love to hear from anyone with another experience. I am not pro or anti cull, but feel people should...

Just got my first crossbeak about five weeks ago, a day-old chick through the mail. I've read through as much of this VERY HELPFUL thread as time allowed, and have seen a few mentions of fermented feed. This is what I'm feeding mine, mixed with raw egg, through a syringe dropped on her lower...
Interesting... I will keep an eye on her/him and let you know! Any advice on which to keep if they are both cockerels, my biggest chicken or my littlest? Or just go by personality? I've never had a roo before.
Hello! I have three of these bantams, one for sure a girl, one for sure a boy and this one's undecided. It is much smaller than both the others, a little darker comb and a little smaller pom than the girl, but quite a bit less red than the definite boy. Any help appreciated, thanks!
Oh can someone please share photos of the ponytails/hair bands/ bangs cut? Or are they somewhere else that I could look at? I have crested birds for the first time and would like to help them see...
