    My Hen House

Nice! I'm hoping they hatch a few of there own to replenish themselves. I'm assuming the RIR rooster will have breeding rights as he has put the barred rock rooster in his place. I'm very curious what the chicks will look like.

    My Hen House

Ha, yeah actually I have one barred rock rooster and one RIR rooster and two of each hens. And one silver Wyandotte. I was going to get rid of one of the roosters, but they seem to be getting along for now. Keeping my eyes out. Maybe when my flock grows they will each have their own hens.

    My Hen House

Nice papas, yeah the loft is a little small (3 sq ft a bird) but the run is actually 12 a bird if I did the math right (it's 8.5 ft x 10 ft , that's 12 something right?). My Hen House

I just finished building my hen house to house my 5 hens. I wanted to build to something that would be movable and yet also substantial enough to give them shelter in the winter. I guess the whole bottom is really a "run" and the loft would be considered the "coop". I used a lot of re-purposed...

The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

I have a somewhat random question. I am in the research phase of starting a flock. Looking forward to raising open range natural birds. I was curious how far chickens roam from thier house. My neighbors are about a football field away and I'm just curious if they will wander that far or not? Any...
