Don't need another photo unless you want to post it. I am fairly certain that the bird on the left is a hen and the bird on the right is a male. Here is another tidbit of information about the difference in a male/female: a male will not have as much color in the beak as the female. Look closely...

I have very few pheasants now. Primarily Ring-Necks and Red Golden's. I am out of the breeding part of it and have them for eye candy only now. I prefer having males as they are gorgeous. I have 4 males running around together happy as can be and it's a beautiful sight to sit back and...
Why ? = curiosity, over enthusiastic, NEW to the pheasant world, and a whole bunch of other reasons. Those of us that have been doing this for 5 years or 35 years sometimes forget we were just as eager at one time. The internet has changed it a little in that one can find so many forums to ask...
I've raised Jumbo Ring-Necks for several years now and every bird is different. Jumbo's tend to be more timid for the most part. I don't like the blinders at all but that is just me. I have actually used that stalking method and it has worked on some males, but there is always one (and probably...
He looks like a Cinnamon or some sort of splash to me. Look at the photo of your Cinnamon and compare it to the one in question. The brown wings are a Cinnamon or splash trait. Where's Randy aka Spectrum Ranch? I bet he can tell you as he has all sorts of beautiful birds like this.
The 3rd...
I don't know much about peach hens but the wattle under the eye looks like a males, and the (looks like yellow) colored feathers on it back, the bright yellow legs, & spurs make it appear to be a young male. Randy, JJ, or maybe Tony will know more about peach Golden's than me. Pretty bird either...

That is vicious. I had that happen once when I first started out many years ago. The cause was not enough hiding spaces and not enough square footage for my birds, but I never had anything that brutal. Wow, you will be lucky if that bird doesn't get an infection or die. Separate it from...
Hey little buddy, they go through a LOT of changes before they finally reach their adult plumage. I love to watch the changes take place in them, feather by feather etc... Once they are around two years of age they will look like all of the other beautiful RG you have seen others post on here
Beautiful birds Randy.
Update on my earlier posts in this thread: I culled all of the males I acquired but I kept the Yellow hen so she could be company for one of my juvenile males (one I hatched not bought). She is laying, but I am certain she is fertilized by a juvenile RG, so no hatching...
My dominant male crows off and on all night. I have gotten up to go to the bathroom at 2, 3, or 4 o'clock am and heard him crowing. Just like JJMR said, there may be a lady wandering around that is all lonesome and he would love to give her some companionship. Something I have never seen before...

I hope so. I think it will be so cool to have a hen that looks like a male. I made a mistake in her age. she will be 5 years old this spring. I received her as a juvenile. My girl with the yellow feathers on her head will be 1 year around May 1st. She is from a clutch I hatched last...

I have no idea how that could happen or if that is indeed why she is taking on males plumage, but she is still fertile. I hope she continues to be fertile, and she isn't at all aggressive. She is the most passive of all my golden girls
Check out my RG hen, she has developed spotting on her tail just like the males. She is 4 years old and this year she is getting a males spots. I'm not sure why, but I have a juvenile hen with yellow plumage in her head feathers also. No inbreeding or line breeding is taking place and these two...
I have 12 Red Golden eggs already, no Ring-neck eggs yet , and 2 Yellow Golden eggs. I kept the hen I purchased at a local flea market this past summer, but none of those males. I culled them all as I couldn't be sure of anything with them. The hen I kept as company for one of my boys. Congrats...
I don't know how to shrink these. Sorry if they are too big.
Meet Caesar; he has the largest tail of any Golden "I" have ever seen. It is three feet long. I am sure there are others out there longer but I haven't seen them yet. He is the pride of my Golden flock
