Just started with one of my hens yesterday; today is the 2nd day in a row with no shell. like lots of other people have said, she has access to oyster shell when she wants it. I was mixing it in the feed, then stopped. today I mixed some back in; we'll see what happens but it's stressing me out!
Outside Kutztown. If you're headed Rt 222 South towards Reading, it's right where the bypass begins and 222 goes from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. There's also a little podunk diner there too. Or I can just give you their web link? http://kutztownhomeandfarm.com
Very nice! And $12 seems like a steal??? Included in my Spring chick order are 2 Silver Laced; can't wait. We saw some really nice ones (Gold and Silver) at the Farm Show a few weeks ago.
With our first batch of chicks last year, we fed them medicated; this April when I get more chicks I'm going the unmedicated route too. I too want them as natural as possible; I also feed my hens organic feed from the local Agway.
Welcome aboard; I'm from Lehigh Co. so right next door. I had 2 Buff Orpington's till a hawk just killed them recently; great chickens. I'm getting 2 more to replace them, but not till April. I'll keep you in mind if I run into anyone local who might have eggs available.
Yes, their catalog says minimum 15, but I've been told they will ship less than that. There may be a nominal fee because you're ordering less than the 15 stated. When you order through them, you have to call them since they don't do online ordering.

I bought chicks from My Pet Chicken last year; all chicks were healthy and we had no issues with our order. If I had one complaint, I think the shipping cost is too much; you pay more for shipping than you do the chicks themselves. I was at the PA Farm Show last week and I met a representative...
