I can't access the photos but if your talking about Welsummer chicks females have a defined very dark "V" on their head and males have plain heads. This is how they are sexed as day olds. Hope this helps.

I have ALOT of other pics...I have pics from what he looked like when we brought him home to now. BIG change.
Sweets is doing VERY well. Growing FAST and eating, drinking and poopin up a storm. I had to move "her" out to the outside pen with the bigger chicks due to picking on my new chicks but no worrie cause there is still a heatlamp out there. She actually seemed to like it alot and ate grass...
I'll be there!!! I will have 9 barred rock roo chicks, 4 bantam cochin chicks(supposed to be frizzle but didn't frizzle), 1 buff orp roo chick, and 3 unsexed turken chicks. All chicks are $1. May have some other chicks too but that depends on if my cousin lets them go.
My kids, dogs, horses, cats, rabbits, and turkeys all share the farm with my free range chickens. My kids go barefoot(just like I did growing up) and yea they get poop on their feet but they are washable. I have never had an issue with them becoming sick from sharing grounds with the chickens...
Well if it is a goose it WILL be coming to live with you!!! I guess I will take you up on those duck eggs after all. I just hope I do better at hatching ducks than I do hatching chicks. I put 36 eggs in the bator on 3-30-10 and they STILL haven't hatched. Not a single one. I'm getting ready...

Well I am using a styrofoam HovaBator with an auto turner. Temps have fluxed between 98/101. No clue on humidity except that I kept the slots full plus a sponge and I added water to a sponge as needed.
My late Turken roo, White Giant roo, Light Brahma roo and a Buff Orp roo over Turken, BR, Welsummer, Buff orp, and Light Brahma hens. So not that I paid for them or anything I was just hoping to get a baby from my Turken roo.
I don't have the best luck in candling. I know I had some clear eggs that I had to remove and some with blood rings but others had veins and moving little babies last week. Of course the little babies seemed REALLY small for how far along they were. Only about the size of a quarter kinda...
Well Sweetwater(ducks new name) is doing awesome and I think its grown since I brought it home!! Man can it make the water MESSY. Its sooo sweet and will rub its head through my hair and make cute little noises. I'm in love here. Hubby says it needs ducky friends cause its going to think its...

Oh Lord don't tell me that!!! I am terrified of geese! I went to an ostrich farm in Meigs county just yesterday and they had loose geese. I couldn't even get out of the truck til they herded them into the pen. *FAINTS*
Its nice to know there are people out there to take throw aways but its sad that there has to be throw aways. I hope it turns out to be anything but a Muscovy. I can't stand the warts on their faces.
