    Does anyone have any Iowa Blues? I would like to get some chicks. My oldest is pursuing his PhD at Iowa State and I would like a little Iowa at my house.The Iowa Blues need some support and I would like to help them out.

    I really had a lot of problems with hawks until I got my guineas. We also has a young possum get into the coop but he just sat there while the guineas screamed at him. The guineas are really noisy at times but they do protect the group.

    So sorry, I've had Cooper hawks fly under my aviary netting to get to my chickens. Last summer I purchased some guinea keets and now the 15 guinea fowl have prevented more attacks. They will squawk those hawks away. Keep in mind they are VERY noisy and will squawk at everything including snowflakes.

    Definitely a Coopers Hawk. We have multiple birds nesting on our property. They have lured young birds to the edge of the fencing, reached in and tore the chicken's head off. I have aviary netting to deter air attacks but they would still come and sit on the support posts and harass my chickens...

    Neighbor hates my chickens- will she do them harm?

    Can you move Spock and a few of his lady friends into a temporary coop and house them on the acreage than is designated farm and not R1?
