    Total stop of egg production

Same boat here. We have 20 or so hens and were getting about 10 per day, but they have completely stopped. Nothing for three weeks. Everybody is healthy and they are eating better than ever as I have upped their feed. It is very frustrating!

What kind of Peacock is this?

Hello all, I "rescued" two peafowl along with a bunch of chickens. Just wondering what kind (color) of peacock is it? His train was cut off as it was in a flood and had to be put in a dog crate for a couple of days. The former owner tells me what is left will fall off and then grow back. Is...

    What killed my Chickens?!?

We are new to chicken keeping. Our 13 chickens pretty much have run of the 36 acres but generally stay within about 50 yards of their coop, mostly it seems, on our porch! No problems... til today. Came home around noon to find mass carnage - feathers everywhere. 3 dead bodies, 4 missing. I...

    Rooster Pinned in Corner

The shed is 14' x 14'. We have only had the chickens 3 days. Most information I have found says that I should keep them penned up for a week or two before letting them out to free range or they may not come back to roost. Is this information correct? We weren't really ready to take the...

    First Time Chicken Keeper

Hello all, We recently purchased a small farm a now have a small flock of 13 chickens. 11 are orpingtons and 2 are "white". The guy who gave them to me said they were (his words) "Americanas". They don't look like Ameraucans, so I'm not sure what they are. Hopefully I can figure it out...

    Rooster Pinned in Corner

Hello all, We recently purchased a small farm with a large chicken coop. Before I could get the coop ready (it leaks) I inherited 13 chickens - 3 roosters and 10 hens. We made a storage shed into a coop and everything seems fine except one of the roosters seems to be "getting the business"...
