I moved my broody to a rabbit hutch to lay and hatch her eggs. It is in the main coop. Once they hatch i plan to keep her and her chicks in there for the first few weeks. Then depending on how all the hens/chicks are behaving with each other I will let them out of the hutch.

She's in a rabbit hutch within an enclosed run. She has water and food in the hitxh where she would have to move to get to it. They are both in measured containers so I could tell if she was eating or drinking.
So my hen, Layla has been an excellent broody except she never leaves her nest. I know some people say they dont need to but I dont want to risk anything. 2 days ago i pulled her off then again today. Its been unusually hot here in San Diego and I wanted to make sure she is drinking.

Thanks. She's taking to it pretty well. When the other hens came back into the coop area she got up and puffed up at them. She stepped off the nest then saw the golf balls and went back down.
