    storage containers - what is the best?

    I keep my feed in the whtie TSC 5 gallon buckets with lids. A 50lb bag of flock raiser fits perfectly into two 5 gal buckets.

    I've fed my chickens (and rabbit and dogs) slices of old/overripe avocado and never had an issue.

    I keep them in an old margarine container in the fridge until it's pretty much full. Then I mash/grind them until I am tired of doing so, and mix them with scratch and scatter around their pen.

    I think there is something to ACV. I use Braggs and add it to their water daily during the spring/summer/fall laying months. I will only add it 1-2x per week during the winter, but laying is at a minimum and I don't worry too much about it then. I get it at our "fancy" grocery store for $22.99...
