Hey Brian,
Where in Arkansas are you? I'm in eastern Arkansas (Lee County), rather than shipping I may be interested in coming to pickup some eggs if you are close.

I did think about cob house, though I was going to use wood, but decided it was too labor intensive for me. Love the look though, be sure to post some photos once you finish.
I do not trim spurs, you can remove them by gently grasping with a pair of pliers and slowly twisting back and forth. Do not squeeze too hard on spur. Gently twist until you can pull the hard outer shell off of the spur. You may see a drop or two of blood, but this will soon stop. Dab with a...
I have seen the same issure with mine. I have two older hens with 5 young ones and 3 roos. I think the hens stay in as much as possible to avoid the young roos. When they do decide to go out for feed and water they try to bully the others. Just like us old folks . . . can't keep up, so we just...
Anyone in Eastern Arkansas want a pure-breed Columbian Rock Roo? I've got 3 or 4 I need to rehome. They are 4 to 5 months old and are out of Jerry Powell's line out of Ohio. PM me or call 870-295-0019. Oh, I forgot to mention, they are FREE if you can pick them up in Lee County!

I was just thinking last night about a columbian buff! I don't know if they exist, but they would be a beautiful bird. I have Columbian Rocks and I have Buff Orpingtons . . . just a thought.
Can't tell by that photo, but it does appear to be a pullet. All Barred Rocks, male or female, should have yellow legs and beaks. If your others have white legs they are not BRs or are mixed with something else.
He looks like one to me. I have orpingtons and he appears to be one. The roos are more of a red color than the hens, with even more red in the tail feathers.
