our local feed store had some, maybe if you call around your feed stores they will have it? also after breeding blue double laced to blue double laced I had some golden double laced, she died at 9 month, have no idea why tho
I have a question about frizzle polish. How do you get it frizzle polish to begin with. Can you breed frizzle cochin to polish and then work with what you got?
Here are my cuties, got hatching eggs last April from DiamondDust

After watching my chicken for some time I have figure out what is wrong with her, she is fat. She is laying nicely now that I have her on strict diet and free ranging. I remember years ago I had a chicken with the same hanging abdomen and after we culled her, due to her age, she was just plain fat.
She had layed an egg today. and her crop was full, but I will keep an eye on her. She was locked up in the cage and had excess to all you can eat food and water, so she helped herself without hesitation.
it feels like there is an egg right after her rib cage, and it is side ways, also feels like her abdomen is full of fat. I had a chicken with stomach tumor, from age, she was old, and it was hard and blue, this is different. I just going to hold her in that cage until she lays that egg and then...
She has a little runny poop, but nothing abnormal, she eats and drinks normal and makes normal chicken noise. Could that be just her fat? but no other chicken has this, and I have two other chickens that are the same age and breed. I just don't know what to do here. I did give her bath yesterday...
She is Double Lased Blue Barnavelder. And yes, she is pooping up a storm. I have her caged in with food and probiotics in the water. She seems unbothered by her abdominal problems.
I have a question about my young chicken. She is not even year old and started to lay just recently, but not regularly. Couple of days ago she started to have lose poop and kind of low hanging stomach. She eats just fine and she walks fine as well, she does not appear sick, but after I checked...
I will post pictures later, but their combs are red, not too deep red, but quite red. That is why I thought that they should lay soon, and it has been a month or so with their combs been red. The roosters started to crow at the beginning of winter. They look mature and well.
I have a question about egg laying. My Barnevelders were hatched in May and I still have no eggs from them. I have another flock( couple of different breeds there, and they are separated from Barnevelders) , and they have been laying good and almost thro winter. I feed them layer feed, kitchen...
Good to hear all of those good replies about them, had my doubts, some people said that they are really bad layers and so on, so now that I have some good info I will preside further. I am in the process of making our own incubator, so I am working on a good light brahma chicks.
I have been lurking there for some time, but wanted to get an opinion from people who are local. The one have looked at was double laced blue over red, they have similar feathering as wyandotte red blue lacing.
