Oh, those eggs are so pretty! Found this thread searching for how much longer I have to wait on my 24-25 week old Wyandotte to begin laying - I'm glad to know I have something really pretty to look forward to when she finally decides it's time.
Went out to feed the flock this morning (I have four) and found one on her back, flapping one foot/wing. Picked her up and discovered her tail and vent were crusted with poop,'so brought her in, gave her a warm bath and a feather trim. I figured I'd start with the most obvious issue first.

It was really fun - I think seeing the other nice, normal urban homeowners with fairly quiet, clean chickens made him realize it was reasonable and seeing how excited my kids were helped, too.
