I found a post from earlier this year where someone else has a muscovy with heterochromia in case youre interested in reaching out to them.🙂
Thread 'What color/pattern are my Muscovies?' https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/what-color-pattern-are-my-muscovies.1611009/
I agree. I dont want my drakes to basically be disabled after a certain age because of breeding for ridiculous carnucling. My current drake is 4 right now and can still see perfectly well. 🙂
I had read an article from sept 2023 that silver will be an accepted color soon for muscovies. I know currently they were only doing whites chocolates blacks and blues. It would be nice to see all the colors accepted someday. I feel like it would help to get the general public a little more...
It is interesting! I guess you might be the one writing that chapter.🙂 I've never seen blue eyed muscovies let alone one with heterochromia. I would think that would be pretty rare. Btw where did you get your french whites?
Hi all ,I've been raising muscovies off and on for about 15 years just for myself as pets with breakfast benefits 😄. I was just wondering if anyone ever shows their birds at poultry shows? I have never really heard much about it and would like to hear from others who have. They are such a great...

I brought the babies in under a brooder light and closed momma in the run then completely cleaned and changed the nest box bedding in the coop. Put fresh water in the large tub for her in the coop and food in a shallow dish. I will put my chick waterer and feeder back out too. Shes back with the...
They pipped friday morning and as far I know at least 2(if not all) were hatched already when i went in to check Saturday at noon, I didnt move her so I can only assume the other 2 were under Mom somewhere. All were accounted for by Sat afternoon. I dont want to take them from Mom but i lost my...
Not sure if anyone still around on this thread but I have a brand new muscovy mom that hatched 4 beautiful babies but wont get off the nest to take them to eat or drink. I tried to removing the nest box, putting food and water in with her ,taking it out and putting it back in the run. Should I...
Mine free range for 3 hours everyday no problem even though they have access to layer feed crumbles all day. My hens just prefer fresh foods to dried ones. I never even attempt to buy the whole corn anymore (unless its fresh corn on the cob which they love!) They don't really like it and I...
