I have 3 buff orpingtons. They just turned 18 weeks. We just got back from vacation and found 3 eggs, Not sure which one laid them, or if all 3 are laying. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
We had ours in a room that was temped at 60-70 degrees. The room has no heater but had the residual heat from the rest of the house. The chicks did very well with them. We had two medium sized tote boxes that contained 11-13 bantam chicks each. Each box contained a small eco-glow. Seemed to work...
It's a pretty lil chick! But I know nothing about sexing birds :(
We have a couple of these too! These are ours that are about 6 weeks old. No idea if they are roo or hen either. Can't wait to see these beautiful little babies grow up!
Here are some better pictures of some of the chicks. They are still a bit skittish so hard to get pics of them. My daughter had them all stirred up.
Any help with identification would be great.
we have 2 of these... the other is reddish/brown.
3 of these, they are not bantams. 2 look like...
Anyone know what some of these chicks are? It's our first time raising chickens. They are all Bantams except for the 3 bigger chickens. We purchased most of them from Orschelin and the rest from Tractor supply.

These are most of our chickens. They are about 5 weeks old. Need help identifying some of them if possible. I will try to take more pictures of some of the different ones. My daughter is planning on showing some of them...
We love ours. The lil bantams spend more time perched on top of the legs and the system itself than they do under it tho. They are about 3 weeks old now. Only go under it when they want to warm. Then come out to venture around. They are so much more active now that they have a normal sleep...
I've had the ecoglow 20 for a few days now. Love it. My chicks are so much more active and happy than what they were with the red light. We keep them in my daughters room. So I have the blinds open at all times. That way they can get used to normal light throughout the day. I turn on her...
Our babies seem to like them. We have 11 bantams in one tote and 13 bantams in another. Each set seem to like it. A change from the bright hot red light they were used to. But it gives me piece of mind knowing when my 11 year old goes in to check on them, the red light isn't at risk of getting...
We are finding out just how messy they are. More-so with their water at the moment. Poop isn't too bad. Wet bedding on the other hand is. Right now I have one waterer in a frisbie, the other waterer is in a shallow lid. It's working for the moment, but I may try some of the other ideas.
We purchased some bantam chicks to raise, but have no idea what they may be.
the little black one with white wings has fuzzy feet.
this is my daughters favorite. it's grey
We are new to raising chickens and ducks and have no idea what they may look like when they feather out.
My daughter is in 4-H and we decided to do ducks and chicks this year. So we got these cute lil guys yesterday and we are curious as to what type of ducks they may be.
