Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

We r glad that this baby is doing well. I know that chickens are social birds. Since this is the only one (out of two eggs that we hatched) will it be ok by itself or should we get an extra chick or two to put in the brooder with It?

Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

Feet much straighter this morning!! Getting to water and food. Can't tell if it is actually getting any food, but pecks at it a lot. It seems to have greener poop rather than clear water, should I assume this little fella is eating? Wondering how many days until we r 'in the clear' and I can...

Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

I will try and get a pic. Seems this am that it is standing, but one foot is slightly turned in. Will footcuff help this? The other foot is straight. Thanks for checking in. I hope the baby starts eating on it's own today and not pecking at food.

Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

Our baby maran is still alive after day 3. It is able to walk to water and drink on its own. We are still having trouble feeding it. Q-tip (my kids named him because of the ridiculous amount of qtips we went through to clean him off-he still isn't totally fluffed out) is pecking at the food...

Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

Ok. He is hobbling around and has actually made it to his water jar a few times and taken several sips at a time all on his own. Whew! We are noticing his feet are turned in/curled?? so I believe this is what is making it difficult for this chick to stay standing. Might he straighten these...

Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

OK. Great. Thank you for the welcome. We have the marbles covered. I will try the drops and foods you have suggested. Right know I have to pick him up and hold him close to the water and he does drink. Not sure how much is adequate for his survival???? How often I should offer water and...

Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

Thank you for the reply. I have tried to wipe it off with moist q-tips and paper towels under the warm light. It is still having problems standing up. Could the hard dry feathers be preventing it from balance??? Some feathers puffed up after a qtip bath and others are still stuck together...

Newly hatched chick with feathers 'glued' to it's body. Any suggestions???

This is my first time to incubate eggs(shipped). They were marans. I only had one survive with my assistance(stuck at pip and never zipped) and at least half of it's feathers are stuck to the body/head and other areas of the body once it was out and dry. Not the fluffy chick I had imagined...
