The pekin I have recently made a nice nest and has now laid nine eggs. Before this she laid eggs randomly around her pen. Is this a sign that she's going broody? I've heard that it is rare, but should I leave the eggs and let her try it? Or would I be better off putting them under a broody hen?

I have two mallard ducklings that I'd like to move into the enclosure that my two mature pekins share. The ducklings are 9 weeks and yesterday I tried moving them in with the pekins. I expected there to be some adjustment issues, but both pekins were so aggressive that I removed the ducklings...
