    Oh my goodness she is all better!!! Woke up this morning she is standing in the crate, let her out and she drank all the dogs water and ate a ton! Right now she is cooing, wandering around the room!! I am shocked and thrilled!!!!

    SHe is slightly better today, looking more alert, able to get her feet under her although she cannot lift her body, and her wings and neck are still limp and flaccid. SHe is drinking electrolyte solution and eating a mash of yogurt and ground up chicken pellets.

    Thank you Ten chicks! She doesn't seem to be doing well. Giving her electrolytes, she is eating yogurt but I have to hold her head and neck as she can't hold them up at all. She cannot stand. Her wings are floppy when I lift them. Here is a shot of her this morning, trying to get up...

    Okay, gave her a couple dropperfuls of molasses water and she ate some yogurt. How long til I should hope to see recovery? A couple of hours if it was dehydration and lack of food?

    Yes, very hot yesterday. But it wasn't that hot last night and she was fine yesterday. She just had a very bright green poop.

    Well, I really want to finish the trim before I take shots, so hopefully that will happen this weekend ;) I am going to call it the Backwards Coop because we built the very secure run FIRST and then we "inserted" the coop using the existing walls of the run. That way, even if the girls are "out"...

    Thank you! I just realized I hadn't checked this thread in a while LOL. Anyway, we finished the coop and run, and ended up using the tuftex which is drilled in, and seems very secure. They're in the shade so the run stays reasonably cool, too. Thanks! I will post photos soon.

    Just added three new ladies...er..babies..to the mix...chicken math!

    Just picked up a light brahma about 1 week old, a black astralorp about 2 days old and a BEAUTIFUL blue orp about 8 weeks old. I was only supposed to get two..but man, they are so cute. The blue orp is SO ladylike. I just hope my existing girls are nice to her. I kept her in the dog crate inside...

    Anytme i try and pet any chick other than her, she comes up and either pecks the hen i am holding or pecks me! She is only content when I put the other girl down and pick her up. Ideas? Can this behavior be stopped?
