    Thanks, Angie. She is a pretty girl. A few weeks after she came to stay with us, she becamce a bit broody. A couple of weeks ago she hatched out 4 babies, whose photos I'll post soon. Pru is a good mom and keeps Rita, the other hen, at bay most of the time. Rita is an enigma herself.... :o)

    Limping Hen

    Thanks for the replies. I think it's a sprain at this point. Prudence is bearing more weight on the affected foot, and she seems OK. Now I have to deal with the neghbor's coon dog(s) stressing my ladies' so that they haven't laid in the last day or so. sigh.
