This morning I witnessed a chicken (that I thought was a hen) crowing like a rooster! All of my chickens are about 3 months old. “She” definitely hasn’t grown as fast as my rooster, he has a very large comb and wattle. Could “she” be a late bloomer? :( I’ve read about cases of hens crowing like...
So I have two chicks which are two different breeds. The one on the left has longer wings and has started to grow tail feathers and the one on the right is a bit bigger, but has small wings and no tail feathers. Could the one on the right be a boy because of it's slow feather growth or is every...
Can anybody tell me what's wrong with her? One of my other chickens had the same type of Disease(or whatever this is) but it wasn't this bad. Help ! :(
Made a youtube video showing the way she walks, and wobbles.
She's been like this for 5 or 6 days now, but there are no bites or bruses on her feet/legs. She's actually doing a lot better than she was a couple days ago, but I still need to know what's wrong with her.
(More info in video description)
Okay, thanks for the help! I also read online that giving a limping bird vitamin b will help them. So I'm also going to try that, I'm really hoping that will help. I'll keep you posted (:
Not really, she's doing everything she normally does. Walking is the only thing that's wrong :/ But I noticed that her poop is a very bright green. I had her outside this morning, but I brought her inside by herself so that she might relax. She's sleeping, but every so often she wakes up and...
My 6 week old pullet is limping. She's been like this for a day and a half now. This morning when I picked her up, she stayed still for a while, and then, when she wanted to go play, she jumped out of my hands and did a front flip, landing on her side. She lives indoors, in a large cage(until we...
My barred rock looks exactly like that. She's 5 weeks tomorrow.
Here's her at 4 weeks.
Pullet BRs will normally have most of their feathers by 2 months cockerel take a bit longer. And at 5 weeks a cockerel should have much shorter tails. (can't see her tail very well in the pic)
Cockerels will...
Not sure about those tail feathers . You might wait another week or two, if it's tail feathers get longer, it might be a male.
But, very small comb and wattles for being born in January. May lean more towards a hen.
Hi, I'm wanting to know if this is a Barred Rock, and also if it is a hen. He/she is almost 2 months old. Hasn't been around another chicken since it was a baby, and shows a bit of agressievness towards it's self while looking at it's self in the mirror. If it is a hen, i would like to get...
