(Okay, so I'm going to move this RP to Draxion's. PM me if you want the link, because the moderators didn't want me advertising and I'm not willing to take any chances. Same with all my others.)
"It's a joke, Is," Beatrix, making a dismissive gesture. She thought something rather more offensive than "dang" when the lights went out, but grinned when Isabella found the flashlights.
"Thanks," she said.
Windy, Cole, and Jasper entered the room. Windy grabbed her brother's hand...
"Friendly advice," Beatrix said to no one in particular, "Try not to knock anything over. Oh, nice, that one's hot pink." She drew a finger across a dusty metal table and made a face. "Pretty Twilight Zone. Maybe there'll be a nice copy of 'How to Serve Man'."
Beatrix walked in, quietly offering a prayer of thanks that there were no spiders, giant or otherwise. The smell wasn't exactly pleasing though, making her feel vaguely nauseous. She began examining the room.

Beatrix closed her eyes, muttered something that sounded like a short prayer, opened them again and started walking toward the door.
The quiet words, “Spiders. Why spiders? It could have been snakes. It could have been crocodiles...
From the ill-tempered muttering, it was obvious that Beatrix had noticed what sort of shape the ladder was in. She wouldn't admit it, and no one would notice it, but she was trembling very slightly, caused by a mixture of excitement for answers, and fear of spiders. A place like this was...
Beatrix looked down. There could be a lot of spiders down there…Shut up! "I'll yell if the coast is clear or not. Isabella, start shining." She lowered herself in, then stuck her head out for a moment to say, "Is, when we're done here, remind me to kill you for bringing up spiders." She started...
"Cool," said Beatrix, "So, this is just me, but I think if there's one place we're going to get answers, it's in a creepy laboratory hidden beneath a creepy manhole cover with creepy scribbles that only Garret, creepily, can read."
