bully chicken eats the most, so now 2 chickens aren't laying.

Hi I have 2 Australorp and RIRs...The RIR were 3 weeks old; the Australorps 3 days old when I got them. Now the Australorp are bigger, with one that is very big. Problem I have is that only 2 of them lay...the big bully Australorp and one RIR. The other 2 are smaller and do not lay. I...

    Building a run....

I went the route of using treated lumber that is closest to the ground, and then using regular wood on top. Roofing materials for coop and run?

You can also nail a plywood board across or use fence boards . I'm building my coop and considering that for the run closest to the coop, so that they have more shaded place besides just under the coop house.

We are building our first coop...check it out!

Great use of recycled boards. I'm also designing my coop similarly with 2 ft. long 4x4 as the base.. Um, how do you deal with the gaps in the walls (esp. in photo with the chicken opening at lower left). I have some leftover old fence boards that I'd like to reuse myself but can't figure out...

hello everyone! Plan to learn lots from you, and hope to contribute in the future

Hey all, just got interested in raising chickens b/c organic eggs are $$$ and you don't know what constitutes "organic". Getting into self-sufficiency through a garden and thought--why not eggs too? Anyways, love all the small coops...I went through 1/2 of them to get an idea. Will keep you...
