    I have my ducklings on sand with paper towels over top........ they eat the paper towels also!!! I don't use newspaper (ink ???--- no good) They are happy and healthy and I have them on waterfowl feed from Mazuri's and other things like grit and some veggies .... but they really like that...

    Sand in brooder

    I use sand in the brooders and the coop. It dries quickly and the day old chicks seem to love it. I retrofit a cat scoop with very small mesh wire (screen) works great!!!
