I'm thinking production blue as well. He's turning into a really nice rooster. Not aggressive at all..fingers crossed. Seems to be really trying to take care of his girls. Seems to be getting prettier by the day. He's going to be big.
I was pretty confident in the top being a production blue but the others have me stumped. We were supposed to have barnevelders but they don't look like pictures I've seen.
We have a 4 month old flock and we are not sure about these two breeds.
At first we thought the ones with yellow legs were barnevelders and the darker legs production blues.
They are very similar except for the leg color
any help?
Thanks
I opened the coop this morning and all was well with our hens. I left and just came home to find one of our 2.5 year old Buff Orpingtons was dead. No signed of a predator. She was healthy as far as I could tell. She was just curled up like she was asleep on the nest.
Ideas? Isolated incident?
I...
Haha. Well that's good to know. Kid at the feed store said it was a frizzle. She's very small much smaller than even a silkie we have that is the same age.
Thanks
I just got a call at work from my wife saying a cat killed one of my Silkie hens. We have seen a few kittens and a full gown cat in the back yard but they have not really messed with my chickens till today. I am not sure who they belong to in the neighborhood.
What should I do?
I am thinking...
In Texas I can shoot/trap as many bobcats as I want any time of the year. Same regulatons for racoon, possum, fox, coyote, skunk or any other "varmint".
I love this state!
