because he kills wild birds that fly into the yard and rips their feathers out. same thing was done to Cheeks. I've seen him kill the birds before. He does it by playing with them, and when they stop moving, he rips out the feathers.

Okay. So Cheeks finally came home today. No idea where she was, but she came home.
This is very bitter-sweet though. Yes, she came home.
However, one of my dogs killed her. No idea why this happened. They always got along with the chickens. Never had a problem before this.
I found her body...
took her to the vet this morning. they're going to fix her stitches and put a hard splint on her wing.
but they said i have potential and should consider being a vet. hahahha. they were really surprised with how well i wrapped and splinted her.
anyhow. here are some pictures after her bath last...
my girls have never gone for my eyes, but they do try to rip out my piercings.
hahah
my RIR was cuddling up against my chest, saw my nose ring, and decided it looked like good food. so she grabbed it, but then she let it go. guess it didnt taste too well.
i dare that hawk to come again.
in fact, i set out some raw meat with a motion detector alarm close by.
that hawk will be mine by the end of the day. guaranteed.
yeah, her wattle got a little white right afterwards, but i stitched her gash, and packed the punctures, so she stopped bleeding.
shes doing 100x better today.
i just basically needed you guys to calm me down and tell me i was doing the right thing. haha
and she said thanks for the scratch
also, here are a couple of pictures. i havent changed her dressing yet, so i dont have pictures of the wounds as of now.
shes going to be living the life of luxury for a few weeks, let me tell you.

it sure did make me smile.
i dont hope bad things of any animals, but man. if i got my hands on that hawk, it would be made into bird salad.
im guessing that its the thing that got my americauna. no more free food here. im keeping the girls penned for a few weeks.
