Looking for 1 light colored easter egger and/or 2 Blue Ameraucana chicks 2-4 weeks old. I already have 3 that age but looking for a micro flock of 6 blue-egg-layers total & want them to ask be similar age...ideally all 3 would come from the same farm/breeder/hatchery. I'm located in Chesapeake...
I have a small flock -only 6 birds- but wanted to give them as much space to roam safely as possible... we have not had luck getting vegetables in the raised garden beds we created a decade ago because there's not enough sun & the trees overhead (from the neighbor's property) constantly drops...

Mine are 9 weeks old now. I guess technically I bought them at tractor supply. .. but from a farm participating in a sale/swap there.
I've never heard of a chicken referred to as a tetra...I thought tetras were a type of fish.
One week later & now they're eating almost anything I put out: papaya, honeydew melon, apples, strawberries, cucumber, cooked turnips, leftover corn cobs, even a couple leftover steamed clams!
My 7 week old chicks aren't eating any of the scraps I put out: papaya, banana, strawberries, lettuce, beet greens, warn oatmeal, radishes, etc. Are they too young for scraps? Should I be cutting them up into tiny pieces? Should i be adding some of the feed & mixing together? I don't want them...

We're I'm the process of building a very large coop but Are so anxious to get chicks & there's a swap/sale today at a local tractor supply. We only want 4 (ideally buffs) but I'm suddenly panicked. My fear is that I'll get a rooster. .. is there a way to prevent that with certainty?
