We recently discovered that our EE is a roo, and can't keep him in the city as result. He's 7 1/2 weeks old and beautiful.
We're very sad to have to give him up, but want to make sure he goes to a loving home instead of who-knows-where if we were to bring him back to the feed...
Oh gosh — good luck to you! I hope yours turns out to be what you're hoping for. We unfortunately will not be able to keep a rooster, if s/he turns out to be one (we're in Chicago). I know — s/he's a looker and we'll be very sad to have to give him up.

Thank you for all the input and the picture — they do look really similar, alliecat. Ours doesn't have those little specks of tan and brown yet though. I was reading that splashes of tan or brown or red usually indicate a roo. Maybe in another week or two?

We're new to chickens, and would love some help identifying the gender of our 6/7 week old Ameraucana (might be EE though...).
Lately our Darlene seems to be developing a darker and more defined comb compared to the other girls we have (although the other two are different...
