Hi,
I have one hen that had bumblefoot, I soaked her twice and the scab peeled off but no kernel came out, is this normal or will there be a kernel? When will I know it's healed and don't have to wrap/treat anymore?
Thanks for help!!
Wow, ok and yes, this time I did not see a yolk. The other times I actually seen the yolk 0n coop floor. I gave the calcium for a week and then every other day after that.
Thanks for your help
Hi again, its been about a month since this happened and I have been giving her calcium since the first incident. She has laid another soft egg in coop about a week ago and yesterday had another one that was stuck and came out this morning. I'm not sure what else to do with this hen. I feel so...
Ok well she finally passed it. Not sure if the yolk is inside her or it came out yesterday somewhere. Giving her electrolytes and calcium supplement with some scrambled egg. I'll just keep an eye on her and see how she does. Should I keep her separated till tomorrow or bring her back with her flock?
Yes, I tried to pull it out, but it's stuck on the interior of vent. When I try, I can see where it's attached, and it seems to hurt when I do it. I've been giving her the supplements. She is able to poop, but it's not coming off with poop.
Hi everyone
I have a polish chicken a little over a year old. I think she has been laying soft shelled eggs here and there. I have given supplements. But I found her yesterday with her bottom wet and there is a shell that is soft that is stuck in the cloaca. Half in and half out. I have soaked...
I couldnt get a good picture. She seems fine today. Even laid an egg overnight. I kept her in the house gave her fluids, egg. Maybe just the heat from earlier in week.
No I could not get a good picture. This morning she is walking, eating and I found an egg that she laid overnight. I'm wondering if it could have been delayed heat stress. Its been so hot here in IL. Yesterday was actually only in 80's. She seems fine today
Hi, I have a 1 1/2-year-old easter egger. She was fine all day and this evening I noticed she wasn't in the coop. I found her in the run and not moving, kind of hunched. When I put her in the coop she couldn't walk. I noticed that her feet were curled up. I took her in and separated her from the...
Thank you, I worried she was a rooster because it looked like she was getting spurs. But I read sometimes little nubs are common in some polish chickens. I pray she lays soon
Hi, I have a 14 month old Polish hen that has not laid an egg yet. She is very red, doesn't squat all the time and she has been in the nesting boxes every now and then. Is she really a late bloomer or is something maybe going on?
