Ok I'm incubating chicks ducklings and soon to be turkey's.
When I incubate my quail they pop out I put them in a broiders which is not much more than a big wooden box with heat and hay and a lid. 4 weeks later they go outside to the cage.
What I need to know is with chicks ducks and...
I have food grade barrels 50, 30, 15, 6, and about 3 gallon. I'm looking to trade for birds whether it's chickens, quail, or any other ones you have. I'll also see about trading for bird related items or equipment. Got something give me a hollar I might trade for it I love to barter and trade...
I have a feeling there are a bunch of us in Mobile.
You and I have had such success sharing information and exchanging ideas about poultry and BSFL I just wondered who all was here in hopes we might all join in in a Mobile poultry info exchange.
Ok. I'm on an iPhone. It's not the phone, cashe, cookies, or any of that. How do I know? Because I used my wife's phone which has never been on BYC at all, signed in and still can post to BST. I even used both our phones to enter through the desktop version and still nothing. As far as I can...
I feed them laying pellets and whatever they forage occasional vegetables. No other birds around no other animals to eat the feed. Fed them this morning and dropped in two watermelons I have been out there all day long both melons gone and all the feed.
I have 15 chickens, 2 turkey's, and 4 ducks in a free range chicken yard that's 40' x 150'. They have free access to the feed and water.
Here's the thing. They go through 50# of feed in 4 days. I want upwards of 100 chickens but not if they're gonna eat like this. Am I missing something or are...
Where exactly do you drill the holes? I think I'm going with the wafer thermo from Georgia but just incase u find a water heater thermo laying around its good to have the info. I've read references to drilling but no instruction on how it's done.
I'm on my iPhone not a computer. I have refreshed the site many times to no avail. Everything else allows me to post but the BST. There is no signature that I can see here. Maybe I'm missing something. All help would be great.
Yes. The BSFL will hibernate during the winter(below 75) not that we have much winter in South Alabama. I'm not positive that it will work but it's worth a try. The worse that will happen is they will hibernate. I figure the insulation in the freezer will hold in the natural heat of the process...
Ok I tore the workings out if a small freezer to turn it into a BSFL colony. I found what looks like a thermostat with a knob and I long copper wire that appears to be the thermo wire.
Is it a thermo and if so will it work in an incubator and if so how good?
What kind of thermo is it?
