It's really bad this year! We have been fortunate at our house! In the past we would add garlic powder or brewers yeast to our dog/cat food and it seemed to work. Can chickens handle those in there food?

Hi there! Noticed today that my organic (10# bag re-sacked from the original 50# bag) starter feed is infested w 1/4 inch sized dark red/brown bugs. Thinking they are weevils. Put it in the feeder anyway since my girls love bugs... Of course now I am second guessing myself!! Anybody got anything...

She seemed perfectly healthy last night and there are no signs of other animals and the coop is pretty secure. It was odd. My husband said when he came in they were all huddled around her as if to either hide what they had done or protect her.
I haven't noticed any bullies! I just figured that they might be stressed from the move. But even letting them free range and interacting with our dogs (in a getting to know you kinda way) they didn't seemed stressed.
I am looking into a camera system to monitor when I cannot be there with them.
