Heavy breathing, droopy wings....:( week old

Switching to duramycin was a huge mistake!!! Switched last night. And the chick I so much worse off today than ever. She has been maintaining up until this point (no better no worse). So I can only guess this is the culprit. She can barely walk now. She will drink and eat if I give it to her but...

I have looked up both diseases you mentioned. Chlamydiosis if this is which you are referring is a reportable disease. It is world wide but rare in chickens? Also it doesn't seem to fit the symptoms. Mycoplasma galliaepticum-chronic respiratory disease - this is a reportable disease in many...

Thank you! This is the first mention of Mycoplasma. I started Corid immediately after it was suggested that it was possibly cocci. I have done what was suggested!

Thank you. I am not sure, all species of animals can have birth defects so why not a chicken? It was just a though as it hatched this way. I am giving Corid at the moment. Should I wait until the 5 days are up to proceed with another medication? I really don't like all this medication. Are...

Heavy breathing, droopy wings....:( week old

I have been giving ACV since hatch. It's just this one little guy that is weak. Do you know if I can keep putting the ACV in with the Corid? I really didn't want to give Corid and don't think it is doing anything as the condition of the chick remains the same. Thank you. I am just at a loss as...

Heavy breathing, droopy wings....:( week old

Thank you. I am leaning toward a birth defect that has gotten worse. I am going to continue the Corid treatment for the 5 days recommended. Not sure what options I have after that. Fingers crossed it gets better. I just feel like I am making it suffer. :(

Heavy breathing, droopy wings....:( week old

Actually some birds do pick up a respiratory infection with Coccidiosis. You would then treat the respiratory infection with something like Tylan. But the Cocci,is still treated with Corid(amprolium).[/quot It has been breathing heavy since hatch. It hatched on 7-11 so just over a week ago. It...

Thank you. I have done that. I just wish I knew what was wrong. The pasty but isn't bad. Just every once in awhile it get stuck. It's little feet are always cold. I lowered the heater for it and have a lamp up higher for the other two so they don't get chilled with space enough to cool down if...

Heavy breathing, droopy wings....:( week old

Thank you I am giving Corid at the moment. However, I don't think there is much change either way. This is day 2 on Corid, so we will see. Thank you! :) this particular chick has breathed heavier than the others since hatch. I am beginning to think a possible birth defect? Maybe under...

Puffed up feathers, heavy breathing, staying in same spot...

That's great! :) it has been extremely hot/humid here (VA) also. Heck i am panting and holding my wings out. lol...However they are in the house which is a cool 72° and the brooder is nice and toasty warm for them. So I don't think that is our issue. Hoping the chick snaps out of it. Hoping for...

Heavy breathing, droopy wings....:( week old

Thank you. I gave them them the save a chick probiotics/electrolytes last night, as that is all I had on hand. I was able to run out of work and grab some Corid which they now have. However I am not sure this is the cause of this particular chicks problem. It has breathed heavy since hatch but...
