Unfortunately I lost my 6-year old hen yesterday to flystrike. The vet said she was 'too far gone' to be treated, even though I thought I'd caught it very early as I do check her bottom regularly. She hadn't seemed out of sorts or distressed, just dripping from her vent which is what alerted...
