Eye growth on day old chick.

Thank you so much for the reply! It honestly may not be an eye growth. That is what my non-experienced brain labeled the under eye area. 😅 I will post another pic.

Eye growth on day old chick.

Hello! I just got this chick from my local feed store (by way of Meyer hatchery) and this is how her eye looks. When I pull it open, it is cloudy and grey. She seems weaker than the others and is so much louder. She seems uncomfortable. Any suggestions or advice? Thank you, friends. 🙏🏼

    Silkie Cockerel not mounting hens?

Thank you! I will say, he chooses to roost in a different coop. We have two small coops in the back. The girls roost in one and he will roost by himself in the other. Do you think I should start making them roost together?

    Silkie Cockerel not mounting hens?

Yes, I have had him since he was two weeks old. He grew up around the other hens. To be fair, they are pullets. They are all around the same age.

    Silkie Cockerel not mounting hens?

Hello! This is Snow, my 31 week old cockerel. He is so shy and a little loner. He will not mount our three gals. We are a bit confused by it, but wondering if maybe he is just slow to mature. He is crowing, but almost scared of the ladies. Has anyone else experienced anything like this before...

11 week old Splash silkie- Gender?

This is Snow. He/she is 11 weeks old. It is the most beautiful, curious and timid chicken I have ever owned. I’m sure it is probably too early to tell, but I figured I would pick your brains and see what your guesses were! Thank you in advance.

    Cannot find eggs! Tips?

We use our coop for them to roost at night and they are let out first thing in the morning. It is too small for them to be in during the day… otherwise, I would definitely do that!

    Cannot find eggs! Tips?

They were laying before the newbies came! And these new gals are pullets and aren’t even laying yet. I’m so confused! Lol

    Cannot find eggs! Tips?

Hello! This is a first for me. We introduced some new chickens, and now we cannot find any eggs except for a few here and there scattered around the yard/wooded area. We have a big sunflower patch that is impossible to walk through, so we are thinking they are maybe in there. My question is...

    First timer. Help please!

Thank you! It is saying 67%. The broody hatched a little one over 24 hrs ago and these eggs are a few days behind. I’m nervous she will abandon the remainder of the eggs soon to be with the chick.

    First timer. Help please!

Hello! I just unboxed and got my incubator set up. It says to let it run for 3-4 hrs before introducing eggs. I have eggs under a mama hen that are on day 19 that I am going to transfer into the incubator. The problem is, it will not allow me to set the day. When I change the day settings to...
