    We had our first significant snowfall last night and the chicken will not come out of the coop. We even tried to lure them out with treats. Is snow something. the new chickens just have to get use to?

    Thank all, we will be processing today. we had to raise the meat bird together with the layer because the hen house is not finished. I did let them out to free range and they did get vegetables.

    Mandalamama, I see you used 2x4 fencing? I was thinking of using this type of fencing also, but I am concerned it is not as secure as smaller opening wire fencing? Do you have any concerns?

    Thank you for the reply, the chickens are about 4 weeks old. I have 16 meat birds which I think are Cornish/ rock? and a variety of laying birds. The meat birds have grown very fast and are now twice the size as the layers. I've lost 2 meat birds and 1 layer

    Of 28 Chick We Have Lost 3. One Wouldnt Eat Or Drink And Couldnt Open his/Her Eyes. One Looked Like It Was Smothered. The Last one Looked Sick When We got Home frEm Work And When We Went Out To Lock Them In It Was dead. Is This Normal? Thanks
