    19-20 week Barred Rock...Hen? Roo?

    Sheeba (above) our Pilkie (silkie/polish cross) seems to be the main target of our Barred Rock's "affection" lol...poor girl is only about half the BR's size and prolly super confused...lol. But for some reason the BR leaves the other Pilkie alone (our Blue Pilkie: Gladis below).

    19-20 week Barred Rock...Hen? Roo?

    Alrighty got a couple side views of our Barred Rock in question. We have been keeping them confined to the coop for a couple days to see if we find a light brown egg as "she" is the only one that should be at lay'n age and of that color type in our flock

    Is this a pullet, or a rooster? Silkie or other?

    Looks very similar to our silkie/polish crosses. They are the sweetest birds in our whole flock. One will hop up in your lap or nuzzle up to your leg if your standing and coo until she is petted or pickup. Sheba our black "Pilkie" with blue/purple sheen in the sun and leans towards the silkie...

    First off thank you all for taking the time to look at her and post your opinions. She is now pinning down one of our silkie/polish crosses by biting the poof on top of the crosses head with her beak and mounting her like a rooster would to mate...have read this happens sometimes in flocks...

    19-20 week Barred Rock...Hen? Roo?

    This is our 19-20 wk old Barred Rock "Henny Penny". Henny does not crow but is kinda noise...kinda a repedative squawking noise. She does herd the other "girls" and just last night she started to chase and pin down one of our silkie/polish mixes.
