Ok, I'm encouraged from y'all's posts. Yes, a forced air. I got home and one is wobbling again. I'm going cross eyed making sure. Then I hear a peep!! I draped a sock down the inside with one end hanging out. This way I can pour water to it and it wicks inside. Sponge would be better but I'm...
Before lockdown (day 17) 3 of my 5 silkie eggs were wobbling. I've turned by hand twice a day and did once more. On day 18 no wobbles. I decided to lockdown and stopped turning. I'm trying to keep humidity consistent - fluctuates between 40-55. Also the temp, which has been a steady 99.5...
Regina is finally sitting gonna clutch of eggs. Not sure how many exactly and not sure they are all hers because we have tow other hens. She's sprawled out a bit in the coop floor and it seems like she can't cover all eggs at once because there are always 5-6 in view. I have a few questions: 1)...
Penny, one of our 3 silkie hens, was found this morning in the flower bed on 5 eggs! She has sat all morning. We have a coop, which they sleep in every night, with a double decker nesting box. Occasionally they will lay an egg in a box, but mostly outside in random places. Eggs in the boxes sift...

Thank you, both. I appreciate the advice. I will do my best to not disturb too many and to preserve the location of her nest. I really wish she would use the 2 x 8 nesting box inside the coop. But that's okay because her current location can be seen from my bedroom window with binoculars!
We found our first ginnea egg in the coop two weeks ago. Two days later we found one on the ground without a shell. This weekend we stumbled upon a nest in the backyard with 20 eggs in it. All the Guinneas free range during the day but roost inside the coop at night. This morning all of the eggs...
We have nine white silkies. They go in and out of the coop run all day - free range. At night, when the sun sets they huddle up and stop right in the middle of the yard. We carry each one (with a hug and snuggle) and put them up inside the coop each night. I think they do it in purpose. If I...

Thank you for the comments. I won't feel guilty if I don't go check every nook and granny around the barn yard. I'll also take your advice on copping them longer. Thanks
My 7-yr-old son has, nay, had 14 guineas. They were raised in the house, placed in the coop at 12 weeks, and after another 4 weeks in the coop allowed free-range around the house. At first we chased them back into the run. If we didn't catch each and put inside the coop, they all huddled on the...
Thanks everyone. I'm now on the hunt for a sulfa mix to treat for cocci. I appreciate your help and look forward to visiting with everyone as this journey continues!
Hi everyone!
I have lurked long enough. Time to join this wonderful informative group.
I need advice on a recent shipment of day-old white bearded silkies. The silkies arrived last Wednesday (24th). All 17 were alive, however, we have now lost five (2-thursday, 2-friday, 1-today). They are...
